5 tips to keep your investment account safe
Investment scams are constantly evolving, but you can minimize risks by following these crucial steps. Longbridge's tips will help you identify fake apps/websites, prevent account theft, and act swiftly if you encounter suspicious activity.
1. Download only from official channels
Download from Longbridge official website: longbridge.com
Download from App Store/Google Play ****outside the Chinese mainland: Search for "Longbridge" to download
After installation, check whether the developer name displayed in the app store matches Longbridge's official information and whether the app has a consistent version update history.
If a URL looks suspicious, manually type the official domain to access it. Avoid clicking on short links or links with look-alike characters (e.g., swapping 'o' for '0', 'l' for '1').
2. Think before clicking links: Never enter passwords or one-time passwords (OTPs) via links from SMS/social media
Any message urging you to click a link to log in, citing reasons like account anomaly, document expiry (e.g., W-8BEN), or upgrade verification, is highly likely to be phishing.
Official WhatsApp messages and SMS from Longbridge currently do not contain any external links.
If you receive any message claiming to be from Longbridge but containing a suspicious link,do not click, forward, or reply. Verify it immediately with our official customer service.
3. Achieve "full marks" in account security
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA): Longbridge has fully implemented ****2FA to comprehensively protect your identity information and funds during login, trading, and all account operations.
Change passwords regularly: use unique passwords for different platforms, and enable login notifications and alerts for unrecognized devices.
Reject "remote assistance": Refuse any request to install remote control apps, share your screen, or disclose OTPs.
4. Three common fraud scenarios
Fake apps/websites: These mimic our name and logo, but have limited features and may trick you into making private transfers.
"Customer service" calls/Stock recommendation in chat group: Scammers may claim to be our staff, pressuring you to submit information or pay "deposits" to withdraw funds.
Phishing SMS/emails: These messages often cite reasons like risk warnings, tax updates, or event rewards to lure you into logging in.
The above scenarios are often scams. Please remain vigilant, stay cautious of risks, and protect your funds and information.
5. If you suspect fraudulent activity:
Stop: Close the suspicious site or uninstall the app.
Secure account: Change your password and log out from all devices. Set your 2FA to the highest level.
Preserve evidence: Take screenshots of or keep records (chat logs, links, caller numbers, transfer detail).
If you suspect a message source or need assistance, please contact us through Longbridge's official channels.
